Were you a parent who vowed you would answer your kids’ God questions forthrightly? Honestly? No matter how they made you sweat? Yet, when the moment arrived, did you find yourself decidedly … not ready?

We get it. What parent has mastered all that theological homework then can download it concisely and on point with what’s happening in our kids’ personal faith walks?

Not us.

Faith Filled Family Magazine is proud to announce a new column to our website entitled, “We Parents Can,” by Janelle Alberts. Alberts has recently written the book, Honest Answers, Exploring God Questions With Your Tween. Alberts says her writing is “for parents who planned to talk things out with our kids only to notice when the time came, we were not very good at it.”

Janelle Alberts, kids

Alberts writes quick pieces that brush us up on theology and run through current trends hitting our kids – everything from Greek mythology to faith and science. Her articles are cheat sheets for busy parents who want to arm kids with the skill of thinking through their faith by talking it out at home.

Alberts (@AuthorJanelleAlberts) spent her early career in PR departments handling crisis communication for Microsoft and UPS. She wrote her first faith column for the Akron Beacon Journal in 2010 and has since been a regular contributor to Christianity Today’s online Gifted for Leadership, RELEVANT magazine, and others. Honest Answers is her first book.
