It is everywhere. you turn. Your children are receiving exposure to a variety of issues that are outside of scripture. Often, they must accept them in the name of tolerance. How can a parent teach them biblical principles when a secular world is vying for their attention?
It’s a Different World/Generation…

Furthermore, as if this wasn’t enough, some parents are struggling to raise kids in a very different world than the one they grew up in. It is simply a very different generation. Long ago, you returned home when the sun went down.
Your parents always knew where you were, the children you hung around with, and their parents. Homework is always done before you went out to play, and the streets were a safe place.
Your greatest concern when walking to school was either experiencing a kidnapping or how to avoid the school bully. Now, school shootings concern children. Instead of face-to-face communication, children often receive texts.
Sometimes a parent may know where their child is by using a tracking app. We don’t always know who our children are talking to as often communication is over the internet, nor do we always know what their values are.
When we grew up, the most “interesting” thing was sexual education. This involved knowing reproductive health and where babies came from. Now, children are learning as early as Kindergarten about transgenderism, what a drag queen is, and how to choose their gender identity.
Indeed, it is a different world and a different generation
So, How Can You Effectively Raise Your Kids in It?
August’s issue is about how to effectively parent our kids. It is brought through the perspective of single, divorced, and married couples. There are a lot of concerns children face often leaving parents feeling ill-equipped to deal with them.
Furthermore, while there are tons of self-help books available, not all of them teach how to navigate children through situations God’s way or the challenges you may encounter.
