After ten seasons of 19 Kids & Counting, TLC is officially canceling the show.  TLC notified The Associated Press on Thursday that the hit reality show will no longer appear on the air.

TLC originally pulled the show after it was revealed that Josh Duggar had molested five children including his sisters while he was underage.

A Discovery spokesperson did tell CNN, however, that the network is not ruling out a spin-off of the show featuring some of the Duggar children.  There is some speculation that Jill and Jessa will be the likely candidates since they have recently started families of their own.

TLC also announced that it has teamed up with two child-protection organizations for an ongoing campaign to raise child sexual abuse awareness.

This initiative will begin with an hour long, commercial free documentary airing late August featuring Jill and Jessa Duggar.

‘We spent the past month and a half in thoughtful consideration about what is the best way forward here,’ said Marjorie Kaplan, who is the group president of TLC, Animal Planet and Velocity networks.  ‘We took it as an opportunity to step further than just “How do we protect ourselves?” and step into “How do we protect our audience and protect children?”‘

Kaplan also added; ‘The goal is to take what has been a difficult and painful experience, and focus that attention on the really critical issue of child protection and child sexual abuse.’

While many have speculated the end of 19 Kids & Counting, the Duggar molestation charges is the latest in a long time of incidents involving inappropriate behavior by reality show stars.

-Here Comes Honey Boo Boo: Canceled last year after photos surfaced of “Mama June” and Mark McDaniel.  McDaniel was recently released from prison after serving a sentence for child molestation against one of Shannon’s daughters.

-Sons of Guns: Will Hayden was charged with raping a 12 year old girl.  The girl was later revealed to be his own daughter and resulted in his other daughter confessing that she was also violated.  Trial is pending.
-Cake Boss: Remigio Gonzalez received nine years incarceration after sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl.  While he did appear on Cake Boss, by the time charges were laid, he was no longer a character.
After Josh came forward as a teen and received counseling, Jim Bob and Michelle took measures to ensure that nothing like this happened again.
When the family moved into their new home, boys and girls bedrooms were on opposite sides with Michelle’s office and their bedroom located in between which allowed the parents to know what was going on at all times.

There is also an elevated catwalk that cuts through the living room which allows everyone in the house to keep an eye on who is spending time together.

In its slot will be a new reality series entitled, “I Am Jazz” which follows the Jennings family and their daughter Jazz who is a transgender teenager.

Our Prayer (because you know what our two cents are!)

Heavenly Father, please be with the Duggar family as they go through life, and strengthen them as a family.  May they always seek You in their lives, and may they continue to be a godly example for others.
Lord, we pray over the selection for shows.  May the choices not reflect a dark world in an attempt to boost ratings, but may they reflect the light found in knowing You.  May their choices be a light in this world which give the viewer hope, lift them up, bring them closer to Christ, and bring godly family examples across their paths.
We know that no family is without stain or blemish, but bring forward families that will touch the unbeliever, and that will fill people with the love of Christ.
May Your love and light shine forth in this world as we raise our families with godly principles, and with godly role models.
In Jesus name,
